Abu Dhabi
In 2002, Abu Dhabi broke the world record for the highest flagpole in the world, by revealing its 123-metre un-supported flagpole; a record it kept for many years.The highest flagpole in Abu Dhabi is located in the beautiful Abu Dhabi seafront, near the Emirates Palace hotel. A group of 400 Students of Determination helped in weaving the flag that flies now overheads.
Dubai
At 120 metres high, the highest flagpole in Dubai is strategically located in the heart of Al Etihad House, the same location occupied by the old flagpole that carried the first UAE’s flag after announcing the union, it is located at the same place where the leaders of six Emirates announced the establishment of the United Arab Emirates on the second of December 1971.
Sharjah
In line with the UAE’s 42nd National Day celebration in 2012, Sharjah’s sky was decorated with the UAE’s flag flying on a 123 metre-high flagpole that shared the seventh place of the highest flagpoles in the world along with Abu Dhabi’s flagpole. This helped Flag Island in Sharjah to become one of its most attractive destinations.
This is came along with the installation of another 3 high flagpoles in Al Dhaid, Dibba Al Hisn and Kalba.
Ajman
In the occasion of the UAE’s 42nd National Day celebration, a 120 metre flagpole was installed in Ajman as the highest flagpole in this Emirate, at the Chamber of Commerce Garden in Al Jurf Area.
Ras Al Khaimah
Ras Al Khaimah installed the highest flagpole on its land as part of its celebrations of the UAE’s 42nd National Day. The flag was revealed during a celebration that took place at Al Qawasim Corniche, extending from Ras Al Khaimah’s Creek. This helped to transfer the surrounded area into an attractive landmark.
